22 Sep IP CCTV system designed and installed for new £40Million 435 bed student accommodation in Birmingham
CS Security Solutions Ltd have recently completed a design and installation project for this purpose-built, high quality student accommodation in central Birmingham.
The 435-bed accommodation boasts extensive facilities, and they needed a reliable security supplier to design and install a system to monitor and protect the premises. CS Security Solutions were delighted to deliver.
The project involved both design and installation, so in order to ascertain what was required we conducted an in-depth survey of the new development in consultation with the developer, taking into account the budget requirements, software, storage needs and camera locations, before designing a system that would meet all of their needs and exceed expectations.
The IP CCTV system that was delivered monitors the car park, ground floor communal areas, lift lobbies and the perimeter of the accommodation, and consists of High Definition cameras which sit securely on the client’s network. IP cameras provide a much higher resolution than traditional CCTV and a larger field of vision means that fewer cameras are required to cover a wider area. The images they record are of a better quality and digital zoom enables zooming in on either live or recoded video – with higher resolution providing a clear picture and not the grainy, indistinct images that have historically been associated with CCTV. All of this sits on the client’s network with no need for off-site recording or storage.
Students can feel safe and protected in their ‘home from home’ environment thanks to this reliable, technologically advanced security monitoring system. Crucially, the project was completed on time and on budget, so that the accommodation could be finalised ready for the first students’ arrival at the start of the 2020/21 academic year.
